MUSIC
THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE OF THE HEART AND SOUL
As a young teen music became the outlet for the burning emotions within me. I would sit for hours on end in the basement of my home penning songs about the world’s injustices, for the rage I felt for the suffering I observed going on in the developing nations of the world. My heart ached to reach out to the poorest of the poor in some way.
When I set off east determined to do something tangible to alleviate the suffering of the poor in the developing world, the guitar on my back was my constant companion. All along the journey into other lands, even before I was able to speak the local languages, music became the bridge, the pathway into peoples’ hearts. Everywhere I went from the Himalayas to the slums of Calcutta, music proved to be a healing balm on ravaged souls.
Decades later, while back in the US, three of my sons formed the music group Bon Voyager. From the late 90’s into the first decade of the new millennium, they performed throughout the US, building a following from the west coast to the east. They were featured in major newspapers throughout US major cities and later via their website, Bon Voyager fan clubs popped up in countries as far off as Thailand and Brazil. What set them apart was the authenticity of their self composed music. The signature sound of the band was their unique three part harmony and lyrics with soul, speaking to real life experiences.
While Bon Voyager performed for about a decade before moving on to other life goals and other careers, their unique style music had an impact on millions of people across the globe. By not selling out to music industry interests and going it alone, they were able to keep their craft pure and authentic.

While BV wrote the body of their own work, when the guys were younger, I wrote some of the music for the band. This included BV’s debut album entitled ‘World of Dreams’.
I penned a song called ‘Tribute’ in honor of my mom and dad who unselfishly cared for our entire crew taking us into their home for our initial years back home. The song, recorded both in English and Spanish, was put on rotation on the radio in some Spanish speaking countries in Central America. I followed up writing new pop songs later in a collection of songs yet unpublished entitled ‘Lost Tracks’.
Here are a few tracks from the first (Destiny) and second release (Alone, Walking In Your Sleep)
